19th Century Carved Oak Picture Frame, English Arts and Crafts Style

19th Century Carved Oak Picture Frame, English Arts and Crafts Style

A deeply carved oak frame, English, Nineteenth Century or early 20th Century. Currently with a watercolour depicting Saint Anne teaching the Virgin.
This incredibly heavy and beautiful oak frame came from a rectory in England. It has a wonderful patina and would look spectacular as a mirror.
A small loss to the lower left hand corner and to the right hand side of the rear moulding, not noticeable when the frame is hanging on a wall. Please see photos. Otherwise in excellent condition and very solid.
The frame fits a print or mirror 12" high by 8" wide. Size of the opening from the front of the frame (ie.sight) is 11.5" high by 7.5" wide.
