18th Century English Burled Walnut Chest of Drawers

Five drawer chest with burled walnut and inlaid fruitwood marquetry design throughout. Each drawer with brass escutcheon and drop pulls, all original. The sides with patchwork veneer and central scrolling marquetry inlay. Raised on four ogee bracket feet.

This is one of the finest chests of drawers we have seen, with extraordinary marquetry on three sides. We believe it is museum quality, with a very similar piece found in the British galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of At in New York City.
