Newly framed.
Sight 13.75" by 9.33"
This print is after the painting 'Edwin the Minstrel' by Joseph Wright of Derby. The painting was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1778 and 1781 and was a portrait of a living person, Thomas Haden.
Thomas Haden, a Derby gentleman and surgeon, was considered to be one of the handsomest men of the time.
"Thomas Haden of Derby, my grandfather, was under a polished exterior, one of the most determined men I have ever known, and one of the bravest. He would have made a hero of romance if he had had the chance. At the age of 85 he defended his home against the whole mob of Derby, keeping them at bay all night."
