Spectacular 19th Century French Inkstand

Spectacular 19th Century French Inkstand

This is an exquisite porcelain gilded and enameled inkstand in the Sèvres style, from France. Nineteenth century.
The inkwell features an elongated shaped tray with two covered ink pots flanking a central well. The well features a delicate painting of lovers in a landscape, flanked by trees and a chateau in the distance.  The covered ink pot centred above is also beautifully painted, front and back, with countryside landscapes and the front apron cartouche has another beautiful scene.
The entire inkwell is exquisitely decorated with gilded garlands, painted ribbons, borders and flower shaped lids, all in tones of gold, pink and green. The whole is set atop acorn shaped brass feet.
This piece is as lovely from the back as from the front.
It is truly one of the prettiest and unique items in our showroom.
Small  surface chip at one end of the stand; each ink pot insert has some gilt wear; one cover with a small surface chip, please see photos. Overall in beautiful condition.

14.5" long by 7" high and 6" deep.
